About This Opportunity

An opportunity exists for a Research Fellow or Senior Research Fellow to engage in health economics training and to perform research, administrative and other activities associated with the ARC Training Centre for Innovation in Biomedical Imaging Technology (CIBIT) and the UQ Business School. Under the direction of the CIBIT Chief Investigators, your role will include the coordination of research, to contribute to scholarly publication of research and to apply for research funding. In addition to the initiation and development of training course material related to health economics, your role will include but is not limited to:

  • Develop databases to examine industry patterns, innovation, regulation and other economic phenomena in the imaging industry
  • Course coordination
  • Contribute to mentoring and training of research staff and students at honours and postgraduate levels
  • Conduct in-depth interviews with clinicians and other users of technology.
  • Publish research in high-quality refereed journals.
  • Develop a program of applied and contract research in the area of the health economics of innovation in the imaging industry

Our Ideal Candidate

With prior demonstrated expert knowledge in the area of Health Economics, Innovation and/or Strategy you will hold a PhD in the area of Health Economics or a related discipline. Expertise in advanced data analytical techniques, in addition to demonstrated understanding of the imaging industry specifically or the bio-medical industry more broadly, is required for the role. 

You should demonstrate a strong ability to establish effective relationships and to represent and promote academic discipline at a university and wider community level and demonstrated evidence of your contribution to research. The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and derive direction from multiple supervisors, as well as prior experience in liaising and collaborating with external agencies to develop co-operative research initiatives, is integral to your success in the role.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, fixed term position for up to 2.5 years at Academic Level B or Academic Level C.

Academic Level B Position: The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $99,542.80 - $118,206.73, plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $116,465 - $138,302.

Academic Level C Position: The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $121,939.50 - $140,603.43 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $142,669 - $164,506.
