About This Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced individual for this exciting role as External Engagement Officer within the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering. In this role you will coordinate and execute activities that support the School of ITEE’s external engagement priorities, administration, and activities spanning learning and teaching, international partnerships, employability, research, and community engagement (staff, alumni, donors and industry partners).

You will proactively build, manage and maintain relationships both within the University and with external stakeholders and industry; contribute to the development and manage the implementation of recruitment and engagement strategies that increase enrolments in programs; and, in conjunction with the School’s Deputy Head of School (External Engagement), coordinate the engagement related activities for the School of ITEE

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment – you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.

Our Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this position you should possess a degree in marketing or communications or a relevant discipline with subsequent  relevant experience in a similar role; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.

You will have high-level interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrable high-level experience in managing marketing and communications for events and a range of different audiences, and demonstrated high-level computer competency, including experience in using web content management systems, Microsoft Office programs, Adobe Creative Suite, client relationship management systems, social media management sites, and Vision6.

It is essential to the role that you have demonstrated high-level written skills, including the ability to write and edit copy for short publications, advertising, social media and the web, and a demonstrated commitment to the provision of quality client service and to continuous improvement.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, fixed term position for two (2) years at Hew Level 6. 

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $80,784- $86,768, plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $94,517 - $101,518.
